About summer in Malta
Festa season
From June to September almost every weekend has a village festa somewhere: band marches, decorated streets, church illuminations and fireworks, ending with the procession of the patron saint. See the festa calendar for dates by village.
Open-air everything
Evenings are when Malta comes out: open-air concerts in squares and gardens, outdoor cinema, food and drink festivals, and parties on beaches and boats. Days are for the sea: early mornings and late afternoons are the best beach hours in July and August.

- Beaches fill by 10am on summer weekends; go early or late.
- Festas are free; the fireworks are usually on Saturday night and the procession on Sunday.
