Saint James Cavalier

Saint James Cavalier, a stunning 16th-century structure in Valletta, is a must-visit for history enthusiasts. Built by the Order of St John, it overlooks the impressive St James' Bastion. Although it never saw military action, this charming cavalier played a notable role during the Rising of the Priests in 1775. Its design by the Italian engineer Francesco Laparelli and construction overseen by his Maltese assistant Girolamo Cassar add to its historical significance, while its architectural beauty makes it a lovely spot to explore.
